COVID-19 Update: Visitors Center closed to the public

UPDATE March 18, 2020:

In an effort to slow the spread of the virus in our community, the City of Georgetown is taking steps to limit face-to-face interactions with the public.

Effective 8 a.m. March 19, all City facilities will close to the public through May 11. This closure includes the Georgetown Visitors Center and Convention and Visitors Bureau Offices.

If you have immediate questions while the Visitors Center is closed, please contact cvb@georgetown.org . The Convention and Visitors Bureau Office will be staffed Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. to answer phone calls and emails. The Visitors Center may be reached at (512) 930-3545 or (800) 436-8696.

The 2020 Red Poppy Festival has been rescheduled for October 23-25. You can keep current on those updates at RedPoppyFestival.com.

Clusterfest is a one-day music and arts festival at Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas on April 26, 2013. The festival is open to the Southwestern community as well as the general public. Veterans Day Ceremony and Reception

Each year, the Sun City Texas Community Association is proud to host the annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza. The ceremony is an opportunity for the Central Texas community to honor those men and women who have served and continue to serve in our U.S. military forces. The event is free and open to the public.

Several hundred chairs will be available for seating during the one-hour ceremony, or individuals may bring their own chairs and sit in the shade of the trees surrounding the plaza. A reception will follow on the Social Center patio.

The Georgetown-Williamson County Veterans Memorial Plaza is located in Sun City at 2 Texas Drive in Georgetown. The plaza is behind the Social Center.

St. Valentine's Day Concert

The Sarofim School of Fine Arts at Southwestern University presents a guitar recital by faculty artist David Asbury on Saturday, February 14 , at 7 p.m. in the Alma Thomas Theater at Southwestern University.  The program, entitled, “La guitarra  enamorada” and focusing on works that are thematically related to love and romance, will feature works by Luis Bonfa, Roland Dyens, Jose Luis Merlin, Julio Cesar Oliva, Roberto Baden Powell and Francisco Tarrega.  The recital will last until about 8:15 p.m, allowing concertgoers the chance to make late dinner plans.
