The Annual Lighting of the Square | Downtown Holiday Lights

lighting of the squareKick-off the holiday season with our annual Lighting of the Square, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving! The 2024 Lighting of the Square will be on November 29. The downtown holiday lights will remain lit every evening through January 1.

This is a free event. For more information, email specialevents@georgetown.org or call 512-930-6534.

The event location is 103 West Seventh Street.

Free parking lots are located at:

  • Fifth Street and Austin Avenue
  • Sixth and Main Streets
  • Seventh and Rock Streets
  • Tenth and Main Streets

Shop Small Business Saturday Featuring The Annual Coffee & Cocoa Crawl

Coffee & Cocoa tickets go on sale October 1st

Meet us in downtown Georgetown for the first annual Coffee & Cocoa Crawl in conjunction with Small Business Saturday on November 30 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m.! Holiday shoppers and visitors are invited to kick off the holiday season with tastings of coffee and cocoa while supporting local small businesses.

The Shop Small kick-off event will be held starting at 10 a.m. at the Georgetown Art Center, and the first 100 shoppers will receive a free canvas tote bag to use for shopping. Participating retailers and restaurants will have holiday shopping and dining specials available.

The Small Business Saturday event is co-sponsored by the Georgetown Main Street Program, the Georgetown Chamber of Commerce, Preservation Georgetown and the Downtown Georgetown Association.

logoGet ready to hop on the caffeine train! Georgetown’s Main Street Program is back with a bang, presenting the 2nd Annual Coffee & Cocoa Crawl. From 10 in the morning till 2 in the afternoon, downtown will be buzzing with the aroma of freshly brewed goodness. Tickets are sold in advance for $20 and include a keepsake mug to remember the day, along with samples at 10 locations downtown. Only 500 tickets are up for grabs.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Georgetown Main Street Façade & Sign Grant Program which has awarded over $650,000 in grant funds to downtown business and property owners. We ask that you kindly consider supporting this event to help ensure the beauty and architectural integrity of the historic Georgetown Square.
