The Williamson Museum provides free guided tours of the beautiful historic Williamson County Courthouse. Ghosts of the Georgetown Square Tours

Georgetown Spring Art Stroll

The Arts and Culture Program hosts two semi-annual Art Strolls in the fall and the spring where participants can engage in interactive arts experiences at arts and culture facilities and arts based businesses across the Downtown Georgetown Cultural District that include artist demonstrations, performances, live music, and art shopping opportunities. The Spring Art Stroll will be April 20 and the Autumn Art Stroll will be October 19.

The Annual Red Poppy Festival

georgetown red poppy festival concertThe Annual Red Poppy Festival is held on the last full weekend of April on The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas! The 2023 festival will be held on April 28-30.

The Red Poppy Festival has hosted a who’s who of artists and bands throughout the last few decades and this year promises to be better than ever. With live performances, all three stages will be heating up and turning out the good time vibes. The fun starts blooming on Friday evening when artisans set up their wares, fresh smells waft from food vendors and live music starting at 7 p.m.

The festival really blossoms on Saturday when it kicks off with the Poppy Parade and Car Show.  Once the engines turn off, the day is yours to make.  Kids can get crafts at the Fun Zone and everyone can feast their senses on fine arts, tasty treats and live music all day, wrapping up with a Saturday night concert!

There’s nothing better than a Sunday Funday, except for one spent at the Red Poppy Festival.  Wind down the weekend with one last wander through the artisan market and raise a toast of local fare to the smooth sounds of a well-played weekend.

4th of July in San Gabriel Park

georgetown 4th of julyThe Sertoma Club July 4 Celebration and fireworks is held annually on July 4. The event is sponsored by the Georgetown Sertoma Club with assistance from the City of Georgetown.

Activities begin at 11 a.m. at San Gabriel Park and will include live entertainment from noon to 10:30 p.m., featuring T. Cole and the Austin Party Band before and after the fireworks show. The festival also includes arts and crafts vendors, food vendors including a beer and wine vendor, a petting zoo, classic and antique cars, games, and rides for children and adults. Admission to the event is free; however, there are fees for some activities. Please do not bring dogs to the fireworks show.

The July 4th Hometown Parade in San Gabriel Park begins at 11 a.m. at the low-water crossing near the College Street bridge and ends at the large pavilion.

The fireworks display begins at about 9:30 p.m.

The Annual Blazin’ Beer Crawl

georgetown beer crawl cheersThe Blazin’ Beer Crawl is a self-paced walking event featuring craft beer tastings inside our Downtown retail stores and restaurants. Ticket holders will receive a map of all of the participating locations and can choose which order to sample and visit merchants. Hot and spicy snacks will be available at various participating merchant locations. Restaurants will have event day specials. Food trucks will be set up for additional food options during the event.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Georgetown Main Street Façade & Sign Grant Program which has awarded over $530,000 in grant funds to downtown business and property owners.
