The Annual Lighting of the Square

lighting of the squareOn November 26, come experience the magic as we kick-off the holiday season with our annual Lighting of the Square, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving!

Mayor Josh Schroeder and Williamson County Judge Bill Gravell will help Santa flip the switch and the Austin Carolers will then sing Christmas Carols. After the lighting, Santa Claus will be available for photos inside the courthouse in exchange for an unwrapped toy, wrapping paper or monetary donation, benefiting the Brown Santa program.

The downtown holiday lights will remain lit every evening through January 1.  This is a free event.

Enjoy an entertaining tour while learning some of the rich Williamson County and Georgetown history! The Williamson Museum provides free guided tours of the beautiful historic Williamson County Courthouse. Tours are Fridays beginning at 1:30 p.m., 2:30 p.m., and 3:30 p.m.  Plan to arrive at the museum a few minutes early and you may want to call ahead to confirm tours as they are subject to change, 512-943-1670.

12th Annual Swirl

the georgetown swirlThe Georgetown Main Street Program invites you to be part of the 12th Annual Georgetown Swirl, a Texas Downtown Association (TDA) Presidents Award-winning Texas wine, local food and downtown shopping celebration, on the Georgetown Square. This year’s event will be on Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 6-9 p.m. and will feature a fun and festive theme (dress accordingly!)

Gather your friends for a fun evening in Georgetown! The Georgetown Swirl will include tastings from Texas wineries as well as amazing food from local restaurants located inside the fabulous downtown retailer stops. Each attendee will receive a commemorative tasting glass and will have their choice of 10 wine samples and a tasting at each of the participating restaurants. The retail locations will have Swirl shopping specials for guests, so treat yourself to a few things while you’re out swirling around downtown! Live jazz music by La Grosse Tete will set a fun and festive mood. A complimentary photo opp will also be setup and photos are included! Don’t miss out on the fun!

A total of 400 general admission tickets are sold for $50 each to keep the event an intimate gathering. 150 VIP tickets are available for $125 each for early access to the VIP Reception from 5-7 p.m. VIP guests will enjoy a special custom menu paired with Texas wines.
