Annual Lighting of the Square

On November 23, come experience the magic as we kick-off the holiday season with our annual Lighting of the Square, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving! Sing along with the Austin Carolers to your favorite holiday tunes! Join Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross as we help Santa countdown and flip on the holiday lights on The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas! The downtown shops will be open late, so plan to get in some unique holiday shopping. This is a free event. Also, stop by The Williamson Museum and let the children make a free craft! You can have your photo taken with Santa inside the courthouse from 6:30 – 8 p.m. (photo fee proceeds benefit Brown Santa Program). Join us as we dive into the holiday season with Santa at the Georgetown Recreation Center Indoor Pool. Grab your suits and your camera and bring the entire family for a chance to swim with the big man himself! Hot chocolate and candy canes will be provided.

This event is presented by Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Georgetown Fire Department.


All ages are welcome, but please note the chaperone requirements.

Age Limits
Ages 1-6: A chaperone (age 16+) must be in the water with and within arms’ reach of the child at all times.
Ages 7-11: A chaperone (age 16+) must be in the pool area with the child at all times.
Ages 12 and up: Full use of aquatics facilities without a chaperone.

Garey House is located within Garey Park, a 525-acre ranch located along the South San Gabriel River. The venue can be utilized for indoor and outdoor events, including weddings, social events, fundraisers, corporate events and more! Garey House has approximately 2,000 square feet of indoor event space, best suited for intimate indoor events of 70-100 guests. The property includes nearly 7,500 square feet of outdoor event space, which can accommodate larger events with up to 200 guests.

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm Fall Festival

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is a beautiful peach orchard located on the San Gabriel River with many farm activities nestled under 100+ year old pecan trees. They will have usual farm activities: pony rides, petting zoo, hay maze, bouncy pad, face painting, and obstacle course. The Fall Festival will include a large pumpkin patch, many Fall photo opportunities, hay rides, live music, local food trucks, and adult beverages. Admission $12/child, $10/adult. Children under 2 are FREE. Weekends from September 22 through November 4, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

38th Annual Christmas Stroll

Small Business Saturday

Meet us in Georgetown on the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas to celebrate Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Shoppers will have the chance to Shop Small with local merchants during the annual Small Business Saturday event on Saturday, Nov. 24. This year’s theme celebrates how you can be a hero to a small business, by shopping local this holiday season! The day will kick off at 10 a.m. at the Georgetown Visitors Center on the Square at 103 W. 7th Street, where shoppers can pick up shopping bags, giveaways and compete for prizes. Shoppers are encouraged to dress the part and have fun while shopping small.
