On September 29, from Noon – 6 p.m., The Downtown Georgetown Association will host Georgetown’s Annual Wine & Music Festival again this year on The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas! A souvenir glass and a punch card give you the opportunity to taste from each participating winery and brewery while enjoying live music. While you’re here, why not stroll the downtown shops, then make it a special evening with dinner at a downtown restaurant.

Cattleman’s Ball, October 20

On October 20, grab your boots and get ready for some good old fashioned cowboy fun at the 7th Annual Cattleman’s Ball honoring Gail “Big Boy” Hester, at the Sheraton Hotel and Conference Center! Enjoy dinner with beer and wine, then shop the auctions, play some poker and dance the night away while supporting The Williamson Museum’s educational programs. Nightmare on Jail Hill Haunted House

If you’re looking for a scary haunted house, this is it! Nightmare on Jail Hill Haunted House takes place on October 12-13 & 19-20 at the Old Williamson County Jail at 312 Main Street. This rumored haunted jailhouse, which held prisoners from 1889 through 1990, has been featured on the popular show, “Ghost Hunters.” (No children under 8 allowed). The event runs from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. each night. Fast Pass tickets are $25, adult tickets are $15 and child tickets are $5 (ages 8-12). All proceeds benefit the Brown Santa program. *The historic jail is NOT handicap accessible.

 

Halloween Festival

Georgetown Halloween-22

  • Carnival Booths
    Make some extra cash for your organization and have some fun! Carnival booths will be located inside the Community Center and can consist of a game, contest, food sales, or any other great idea you might have. Please plan your booth around the interests and abilities of children. Booths accept tickets, which participants will buy from the Parks and Recreation Department for 25¢ each. Games/activities/refreshments cost 1 or more tickets. Your organization will be paid full value for each ticket you collect at the end of the event. There is a $35 fee for food/refreshment booths and a $25 fee for all other booths.
  • Trick or Treat Village Georgetown Halloween-1
    Back again this year is a Trick-or-Treat Village, a free activity for children and families. Businesses set up stations outside the Community Center. There is a $15 fee to host a station, plus the cost of providing 2,000-3,000 pieces of candy for trick-or-treaters. Send a maximum of 4 representatives (over the age of 18, please) for the entire event (5:30 pm – 8:30 pm). Decorate your table and your staff for Halloween, put out displays and information, and distribute promotional items to event-goers, along with the candy. The Trick-or-Treat Village is extremely popular and a great way to gain exposure for your business!

Downtown Ghost Tours

Tour times: 7:30, 8:00, 8:30 and 9:00 p.m. for both weekends. Tours held at 9 p.m. will be scarier than the earlier tours tours. Purchase tickets at the Williamson Museum at 716 S. Annual Lighting of the Square

On November 23, come experience the magic as we kick-off the holiday season with our annual Lighting of the Square, traditionally held at 5:30 p.m. the Friday after Thanksgiving! Sing along with the Austin Carolers to your favorite holiday tunes! Join Georgetown Mayor Dale Ross as we help Santa countdown and flip on the holiday lights on The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas! The downtown shops will be open late, so plan to get in some unique holiday shopping. This is a free event. Also, stop by The Williamson Museum and let the children make a free craft! You can have your photo taken with Santa inside the courthouse from 6:30 – 8 p.m. (photo fee proceeds benefit Brown Santa Program). This event is presented by Georgetown Parks and Recreation Department in partnership with the Georgetown Fire Department.


All ages are welcome, but please note the chaperone requirements.

Age Limits
Ages 1-6: A chaperone (age 16+) must be in the water with and within arms’ reach of the child at all times.
Ages 7-11: A chaperone (age 16+) must be in the pool area with the child at all times.
Ages 12 and up: Full use of aquatics facilities without a chaperone.

Boo Bash on the Square

On October 28 from 1 – 4 p.m., come down to the Georgetown Square in costume, bring your candy bags and enjoy trunk or treating on Main Street! Boo Bash is a great time for goblins of all ages to take time out to enjoy The Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas and its unique shopping and dining. This is a free event. Garey House is located within Garey Park, a 525-acre ranch located along the South San Gabriel River. Sweet Eats Fruit Farm Fall Festival

Sweet Eats Fruit Farm is a beautiful peach orchard located on the San Gabriel River with many farm activities nestled under 100+ year old pecan trees. They will have usual farm activities: pony rides, petting zoo, hay maze, bouncy pad, face painting, and obstacle course. The Fall Festival will include a large pumpkin patch, many Fall photo opportunities, hay rides, live music, local food trucks, and adult beverages. Admission $12/child, $10/adult. Children under 2 are FREE. Weekends from September 22 through November 4, 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.

Small Business Saturday

Meet us in Georgetown on the Most Beautiful Town Square in Texas to celebrate Small Business Saturday on Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Shoppers will have the chance to Shop Small with local merchants during the annual Small Business Saturday event on Saturday, Nov. 24. This year’s theme celebrates how you can be a hero to a small business, by shopping local this holiday season! The day will kick off at 10 a.m. at the Georgetown Visitors Center on the Square at 103 W. 7th Street, where shoppers can pick up shopping bags, giveaways and compete for prizes. Shoppers are encouraged to dress the part and have fun while shopping small.
