<p>Visible for miles around, the imposing beautiful neoclassical structure is the focal point of the central business district and the fifth structure to serve as a county courthouse. Austin architect C.H. Page designed the building, projecting porticoes supported by Ionic columns, and classic pediment and balustrade detailing. The $9 million courthouse restoration was successfully completed in 2007 through a joint effort of Williamson County and the Texas Historical Commission, returning the structure to its original splendor. The pediments and balustrade were removed in 1965. The Williamson Museum conducts free guided tours of the courthouse by appointment.  For tour information:</p>

Housed in the recently renovated Farmers State Bank Building (1911), the Museum offers visitors a fascinating glimpse of the past through professional exhibits and innovative hands-on programs.</p>

The Georgetown Firefighters Museum offers a display of both modern and vintage firefighting equipment. You&#8217;ll find &#8220;Betsy,&#8221; a prized 1922 Seagraves fire engine in mint condition. Authentic photos, fire apparatus, and historical firefighter memorabilia round out the collection. The station is still used as the city&#8217;s main fire station.
