Red Poppy Festival April 25, 26
The red poppies are blooming in Georgetown, a sure sign of the arrival of spring and the Red Poppy Festival, celebrating its 10th year on April 25 and 26.
Music: Best known for their number one country rock hit Let Your Love Flow, the Bellamy Brothers perform in a Saturday night concert at 9 p.m. on the Square. Howard and David Bellamy had 12 number-one hits on the country charts as the most successful duo in country music in the 1980s. The next generation of Bellamys, Jesse and Noah, perform Saturday night at 7 p.m. Other music groups on Saturday and Sunday at the festival include the Siekers, Blue Rail, Georgetown High School Jazz Band, Austin Jazz Band, and Joe McDermott. Friday Concert: This year, there will be a special free Friday night concert on April 24 on the downtown Square on Eighth Street. Fools Can Be Kings plays at 6:30 followed by soul-jazz-blues sensation Flyjack from Austin at 8:30.

Red Poppy Parade: Saturday starting at 10 a.m., wear red to show your community spirit and come watch the annual Red Poppy Parade on Austin Avenue. The theme is Paint the GeorgeTown Red.
Bike Ride: The Red Poppy Ride begins on Saturday at 8 a.m. The charity ride includes a 14-mile family route as well as 30-mile, 45-mile, and 62-mile routes. Red Poppy 5K and Kids K: A 5K run in the downtown area starts at Sixth and Main streets on Sunday at 10:00 a.m. See the link at RedPoppyFestival.com for details or to register.
Car Show: Classic cars, Corvettes, and hot rods on the Square on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. To register, see the link at RedPoppyFestival.com.
